One year on: An update from Scotland

In 2022, our supporters generously covered the tuition fees for Scottish student Peter Barrow. Here, we catch up with him and issue a financial appeal for his next year of studies.

“Over the last year my conviction regarding a call to pastoral ministry has increased. I have continued with my in-church training at Deeside Christian Fellowship in Aberdeen, where I have preached throughout the local area. In March I accompanied one of my pastors for a week's teaching trip to HUB Bible College in Serbia where I gave a talk on Romans 8.”

"I have thoroughly enjoyed the teaching I have received at Westminster this year and am so grateful for the kind donations that have made it possible.”

Alongside his studies at Westminster, Peter has also completed a theological diploma at Edinburgh Bible College and is working towards a Biblical Counselling Certificate with BCUK.

“I am burdened by my need to embody as well as proclaim the gospel of grace. My prayer is that I would grow more in Christlikeness as I prepare for pastoral ministry.”

As Peter nears the end of his in-church training, he is prayerfully considering where to serve as an ordained minister from summer 2024 onwards. To prepare for this step, his elders are discussing offering him greater responsibility for the pastoral care of a church plant in central Aberdeen.
