Distance Learning

Making disciples of all nations

Relocating to a new city for theological study is a significant decision. We are therefore delighted that, from September 2021, we are able to support students during the first year or two of their degree to study from home.

This is achieved using a 'blended learning' approach: online curriculum materials, a community discussion forum and personal mentoring are provided alongside face to face instruction using video conferencing.

Distance learning methods can be used for up to 40% of your degree; the remaining elements are delivered through a blend of intensive study weeks and a period of residence in the UK.  We believe this ratio works: private study is balanced with personal discipling, electronic communication with personal interaction.  You will benefit from your growing discipline of self-regulated study as well as from the in-person teaching, fellowship and discussion that community life brings.

Our hope is to ease the financial and practical burden on international students, and make it possible for you to settle into the rhythm of theological studies before having to relocate to Newcastle - especially where you have a family to consider.

If you think this approach may be for you, just get in touch and we'll be happy to talk things through with you.
