Public Lectures with Dr Kevin Bidwell
Updated: Feb 27, 2021

WPTS will be opening its doors from 9-11 March 2020 for a three-day lecture series on the Trinity. Dr Kevin Bidwell, minister of Sheffield Presbyterian Church and a member of the faculty at WPTS, will be discussing the interplay between the doctrine of the Trinity and the life of the church.
Dr Bidwell wrote his PhD on “The Church as the Image of the Trinity”, a critical evaluation of Miroslav Volf’s ecclesial model addressing, amongst other things, the consequences of an egalitarian doctrine of the Trinity on the practice of the church.
This research has stood Dr Bidwell in good stead for a survey of Trinitarian theology throughout the history of the church. The lectures will cover early formulations of Trinitarian thought, key ecumenical creeds, Reformation writings on the Trinity, the Trinity in the Westminster Standards and the relationship between the Trinity and evangelism.
We welcome prospective students and any other supporters of the seminary to join us for what promises to be a practical and insightful series of lectures.
