2022 Conference: The Mission of The Church

What is the mission of Christ’s Church? Few questions are as foundational - or as hotly debated - within Christianity. Westminster Seminary’s 2022 Conference sought to tackle this issue head-on with three days of teaching examining key areas such as the Great Commission, global missions, the Kingdom of God, and social justice.

It was a privilege to welcome speakers from both sides of the Atlantic, with Alistair Begg joining us for the first time alongside long-standing American friends of the seminary Jon Payne and David Strain. They were joined by UK speakers Geoff Thomas, Warren Peel, Paul Levy, Simon Calvert, and Dan Peters.

"The conference so much confirmed and helped us to gain confidence in the fact that central to our mission is building, nourishing and planting Christ-centred churches.”

A particular highlight was the number of international guests. Over 150 delegates joined us, with a number travelling from France, Belgium, Switzerland, and the US. The conference’s online audience further contributed to this international flair. A Dutch missionary couple from Togo, who joined the conference livestream, were amongst many who wrote to thank the seminary. Describing the conference as a “tremendous blessing” , they noted how “the conference so much confirmed and helped us to gain confidence in the fact that central to our mission is building, nourishing and planting Christ-centred churches.”

Video recordings of the conference will soon be made available freely available online on the seminary’s YouTube channel. We invite you to subscribe to the channel if you wish to be notified when they are released.

Joel Beeke and Ian Hamilton have confirmed that they will be joining us from 26-28 October 2023 for our next annual conference entitled ‘Behold Your God!’. We would be delighted if you could join us. Find out more information and register at reduced early bird prices here.
